Achievements

We are very proud to see the achievements, awards, and milestones of current and former students since the founding of the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA at Dominican University of California.

  • In 2008 and 2010, our students were representatives of the Southwest Region at the National Festival of the American College Dance Festival Association. In 2008, they performed Solid Soil Beneath Our Feet by faculty member Gregory Dawson at Barnard College in New York City. In 2010, they performed Milliseconds by faculty member Kara Davis at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC
  • In 2010, three BFA students were selected to present research papers at the National Congress of Undergraduate Research.
  • In 2009, Katie Scherman (Class of 2010) was awarded a Princess Grace Foundation scholarship.
  • In 2011, Jeffrey Van Sciver (Class of 2013) was awarded a Princess Grace Foundation Scholarship, and the Princess Grace Foundation’s Chris Hellman Award.
  • In 2011, students were invited to attend the Tremplin Jeunes Ballets of the Monaco Dance Forum. Only a handful of American conservatories are invited to send students to this highly prestigious showcase, attended by international directors of contemporary and classical ballet companies.
